Healthier Wigan Partnership Governance

Wigan borough has agreed its locality plan where we set out our plan to achieve an affordable health and care system for the future. These exciting transformation plans include services that have never been integrated before such as community nursing and adult social care and we need new, robust governance structures that support any changes which are made.

The Healthier Wigan Partnership Strategic Leadership Team (HWP SLT) have the overall strategic design authority and responsibility for the redesign of services and the bringing together of enabler groups. The HWP SLT report to Healthier Wigan Partnership Board that has accountability to deliver the Locality Plan Delivery for Out of Hospital Care which has oversight of services in scope for the partnership. The HWP board is responsible to the Integrated Commissioning Committee (ICC) and ultimately Health and the Well Being Board (HWBB) which is jointly chaired by the Council and CCG , with all providers represented. In addition, the ICC and HWBB engage the system advisory groups including, Director of Finance, Clinical Advisory Group, Voluntary and Community Sector Reference group whilst providing national and GM relationship and assurance.
