Mental health problems are common – It’s estimated that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year. Whilst some people are starting to talk more openly about their own experiences, sadly there is still a stigma which can prevent people from telling anyone that they’re struggling or from seeking the help that they need.
All the partners involved in Healthier Wigan, will work together to challenge stigma, promote wellbeing and make sure that we help those who experience poor mental health in the best way possible.
In Wigan, North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of mental health services, delivering children and adult mental health services as well as learning disability services.
